7 Daring Fashion Trends You Must Try This Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

When the warmer weather starts to creep up on State College, I always start to go into a slight frenzy…

What will I wear? How can I go about my life with ease when I know I can no longer just wear my classic leggings and sweatshirt combo every day? And then it hits me… it’s an opportunity for a reinvention. Every season I think to myself, “new weather, new me!”

Yet every season I seem to slip on those tired sneakers and same old wardrobe. Well guess what world, not this summer. THIS IS IT. This is the summer I am going to be the fashionista I have always dreamed of.  I am going to be a walking Seventeen Magazine, and I will show some of my fellow fashionably-mediocre friends just how it’s done.

First is the floppy hat. It’s all types of “mysterious” and “Boho chic,” and it just so happens that I want to be all of the above.

Okay. I never thought these were cool until last summer, and I realized I was so wrong. These are SO cool. We are DOING IT! Bold. Statement. Yes. Buy.

The ombre look.  Need I say more?

So someone told you overalls were in and you scoffed at them because the last time you wore overalls was for art class in the 3rd grade. Well scoff again, honey. Overalls are as cool as the other side of the pillow.  I mean, look at the girl below.

So when you think of the all-jean outfit, you think of an old western cowboy. Ehh try again. And this time, think more like J.Lo.

Oh, the bra top. Embrace it ladies, embrace it.

Finally, we get to the big kahuna. All hail the monokini! So, if you wanna be fierce, fun and Beyoncé (we know you do), buy this daring piece of swimwear.

Now THAT says confidence!

So, there you have it, some daring summer fashion trends. If you get to try out all seven, you’re basically Beyoncé. If you can just get a couple, you’re still on the road to being Beyoncé and that is all that really matters.
