5 Iconic Quotes from Cardi B

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

For some of us, Queen Cardi B has become a staple in pop culture. But, Belcalis Almanzar (try saying that ten times fast) has been in the game since she was making money moves in the strip club at 19 years old.

Before “Bodak Yellow” blew up, Cardi B was known for her inspirational Instagram videos. She may be a “hoe that never gets cold” but she’s also a connoisseur of thot behavior and haters. Let’s take a minute to appreciate her most memorable quotes:

1. “If I were elected President of the United States, I would allow food stamps to get McDonalds.”

Not only is Cardi B a boss a** bitch – she’s a political mastermind. If you don’t recall the video she released right before the presidential election last November, I highly recommend you watch it here:

2. “I’m an emotional gangster. I cry once every month.”

Although Cardi B keeps it one hundred all the time, she’s still human. She has feelings just like you and me – hoes are allowed to cry too.

3.“Everybody want to be a rapper. F*** your dreams. Get a job.”

There she goes, keeping it real again. Luckily for our beloved Cardi B, she’s been baking that shmoney lately doing what she loves.

4. “I’m sorry I ain’t proper and shit. My hair proper though.”

One thing that I love about Cardi B is that she doesn’t apologize for anything. She may not be “classy,” but she’s never going to sugar coat anything for you.

5. “Ever since I started using guys, I feel so powerful.”

Cardi B doesn’t allow herself to be defined by a man, although she may be dating Offset – one of the three members of Migos. She knows how bad she is and she doesn’t need a male to tell her so.

I hope these quotes have made you love Cardi B as much as I do – long live the queen of the Bronx.
