Erie, PA. Most recently known nationwide for being the place where the alleged Facebook killer came to hide and eventually killed himself, however Erie PA has much more to offer than just that.
Erie PA has beautiful sights of the lake, waterparks, and entertainment for the entire family, however it also has quite a few sex shops in town too!
The real question is what is the negative stigma behind sex shops? Yes it is a place where you buy things for your own pleasure behind closed doors, but going to a sex shop is also a social experience. It is something that is being de-stigmatized in our generation and that’s why I chose to inform everyone on what Erie has to offer.
Let’s start with the Lion’s Den! The Lion’s Den isn’t really in Erie, PA however it’s only a hop and a skip over the New York border in Ripley, NY. It is about 15 minutes away from downtown Erie and only about a 5 minute drive from Northeast PA.
The Lion’s Den is by far the largest sex shop in/near Erie PA. They have products ranging from fetishes and videos, to funny merch and vibrators. The Lion’s Den offers a reward card unlike some other sex shops which allow customers to earn points and earn discounts when they make purchases. This feature makes them a go-to stop for the local college students around Erie.
Next we have AdultMart. AdultMart is located in the heart of the city of Erie right off of Gannon’s campus. AdultMart is much smaller than Lion’s Den, however they carry a similar variety of products. AdultMart is also super appealing to college students because of their discretion. When someone makes a purchase at AdultMart on credit/debit card statements it appears as a cultural bookstore rather than a sex shop for those whose parents still are linked to their bank accounts.
Finally we have Modern Adult. Modern Adult unlike the other stores is a standalone location with no online shopping base, this store is also the smallest out of the three in Erie. Modern Adult does have a prime location conveniently located near the strip of bars in the heart of downtown.
