Introduction
We know what everyone says about Princeton fashion. They say that we all look like we stepped out of a J. Crew catalog; now that isn’t a problem, but the lack of diversity in our stylings is an issue. Where is the fashion experimentation? Where is our drive to dress to impress?–dead with the flowers held hostage under the snow. Believe it or not, spring is soon to come which means new clothes. I don’t think that we intentionally fall into the roles of J. Crew models, but what else do we know? Trendy has become the way of life in almost all stores. Modcloth, American Apparel, and Urban Outfitters are more similar than they ever were before. Unique pieces are hard to find. Enter Etsy. Etsy connects the sellers with the buyers in a unique way. Hand-made products, that are one-of-a-kind and often custom-made, are not only really unique but perfect for Princeton collegiettes. In the upcoming weeks we will highlighting our most recent favorite shops on Etsy!

Noella Beauty Works owned by Jackie (New York)

Each and every shade of Noella Beauty Works products are custome made, hand mixed/shaken, jarred and packaged by Jackie. Jackie has solved the problem of most college women, but supplying mineral makeup with the finest and purest ingredients for her mineral eyeshadows, foundations, concealers, and blush. The entire makeup collection lacks synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, preservatives, and parabens–making the make-up a better option for us Princeton women that are too busy to take all the precautions with “regular make-up.” Luckily, Jackie allows requests for colors (dark or lighter or more glittery) for those of us with very particular tastes! For these reasons and more, Noella Beauty Works is the beauty stop for Princeton women!

Her Campus Princeton: When and why did you begin Noelle Beauty Works?
Jackie: I began my Etsy store in December of 2010.
I decided to open up a shop because I had been successfully selling my cosmetics in my mothers salon in my very small town and wanted to broaden my clientele. I also really shipping around the world and with Etsy, that was possible. I love knowing that the cosmetics that I make in my little studio are in the makeup boxes of people in all other states and many other countries- it’s very exciting!
Her Campus Princeton: Can you describe Noella Beauty Works in one word?
Jackie: My etsy store in one word – COLORFUL
Her Campus Princeton: Why should Princeton collegiettes know about Noelle Beauty Works?
Jackie: I’d love for every Princeton Collegiette to know about Noella Beauty Works because, as a college student myself, I know how important it is and how great it feels to treat and pamper myself every once in a while. Other mineral makeup companies can be very expensive, but my goal was to offer high quality cosmetics at a fraction of the cost of other companies so women of all ages can enjoy them.
