Here on the Bluff, the sun has taken a little vacation. It’s been gray skies for so long that the one day it was actually sunny, I was squinting and my super pale skin was glowing. Edward Cullen had nothing on me. While the time for shorts and sandals is a little far away, that doesn’t mean us Portland Pilots are dressing anything but stylish. Let’s take a look at one on-campus fashion trend:

Booties could very well be my new favorite footwear and it seems like a lot of people agree! Step out onto campus and it’s guaranteed that you will see a sea of cute little booties. Why do we love booties you may ask? Well for starters they are so versatile and instantly dress up your look from cute to totally chic. For me the struggle is finding the perfect booties. There are 3 things I look for in the perfect sole-mate: comfort, affordability, and style. Want to join the trend on campus? Look no further!

1. Style & Co. Jamila Zip Booties; Macy’s

I might be a little biased about these booties because I actually have a pair myself. I got them during Black Friday. For me they are a perfect height for a bootie, Since I’m a little on the shorter side, they are a perfect height for me. So far I have gotten a lot of compliments on them so far! If you aren’t willing to shell out $80 don’t worry! Macy’s is constantly having sales and promotions, so you just have to keep your eye  on the lookout for sales.

2. Crown Vintage Sandy Bootie; DSW

DSW could very well be one of my favorite places to look for shoes. One of my best friends got a pair of super cute and comfy wedges for $2! It’s that’s not a bargain then I don’t know what is. These booties would be perfect to wear around campus or on a trip to Salt and Straw! Plus, DSW always is having some-sort of sale, but this price is definitely on the lower end.  Bonus: the reviews say they are SO comfy!

3. TOMS ‘Desert’ Wedge Bootie; Nordstrom

TOMS is definitely one of my favorite companies. I love what they stand for and  While heeled booties are always fun, how about a wedge bootie to mix it up?! They are just as cute and super versatile. My sister has a pair and loves them. Pair them with some skinny jeans and a long patterned cardigan and you’re ready to go!

4. BP Trolley Ankle Bootie; Nordstrom

Nordstrom is definitely people’s go to when it comes to shoes. They are known for quality, and these booties are no exception. Just look at how many people reviewed them! 1301 people! My sister has tried these on in the store and said they are so comfy and so cute! While they are on the higher price range, they are a total wardrobe staple and you will get your money’s worth.
