Outfit of the Day Inspiration: 03/21/2012

WEDNESDAY- Denim Shirts with Sweaters!
In continuation of Monday’s post, here are more ideas on how to rock a denim shirt!

Outfit #1: Sweater and Skinnies!
If you own a pair of those hot but tricky to wear leather pants, this outfit offers a good way to work them into your wardrobe casually.  However, black skinnies would work just as well.  Pair a cheery spring sweater over the denim shirt for a funky-cool layered look, perfect for those days when you want to look polished but don’t have much time to work with.

Outfit#2: Spring Brights!
The look on the left definitely has a lot going on, but if you lose the knee socks it becomes a bit tamer…or keep them if you are feeling adventurous!  To break it down, this outfit takes the sweater and denim shirt duo from outfit #1 and swaps out pants for a feminine skirt, and solid colors for bold stripes.  With a belted silhouette and nice shoes, this look could even be appropriate for field experience or a job, depending on where you work.  The look on the right has the same idea, but adds bright pants instead of a skirt for a loud and fun ensemble.

Hailing from eastern Washington, Julia attends the University of Portland in Oregon, as a Communication Studies major with an emphasis on Journalism. As a magazine and book junkie, Julia reads everything (and anything) she can get her hands on, especially those passionate on young adult culture and entertainment. A woman that gets stir-crazy easily, Julia has been fortunate to have traveled many summers in a row to foreign countries, including a study abroad course in Austria, Germany, and Great Britain. Since a ripe age, she has grown and cultivated her passion and dream of working for a magazine and spreading awareness as well as happiness through the tips of her fingers. Always finding time for herself, Julia can frequently be found quoting movie lines (most frequently Will Ferrell or Vince Vaughn), having a 90's dance party with her roommates, or rereading "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" for the 40th time.
