Why did you choose to major in nursing?

Nursing is a great way to combine my interest in science with my passion for helping others. Even though some of my nursing classes are a lot of work, I really enjoy learning more about the topics.

What field of nursing are you interested in?

I want to be in a fast-paced environment  where I will be challenged to think on my feet. As of now, I’m interested in working in the trauma unit or the emergency room.

What’s your favorite part about being a Freshman Workshop leader?

I really like getting to know the freshmen and sharing my experiences to help them with the transition to college. I enjoy being a mentor and doing everything I can do to make their freshman year the best year possible!

What was your most embarrassing moment as a workshop leader so far?

During one of the orientation meetings, we were all outside about to do an ice-breaker game. Everyone was sitting down around me as I explained the rules. I was almost done explaining the game when a huge gust of wind came and blew my skirt up in front of everyone; thankfully I had shorts on under my skirt. It was so embarrassing!

What’s one thing you are looking forward to this year?

I will be studying abroad in London next semester. I’m so excited for this new experience and to be able to have an opportunity to travel around Europe for four months .

Victoria is a senior marketing major with a sustainability minor at the University of Portland. In her free time, she loves browsing the aisles of Target, exploring Portland and drinking chocolate milk. When in doubt her outfits are almost entirely from Old Navy and you can normally find her in Kenna Hall where she is one of the Resident Assistants.
