Five Festive Treat Ideas For This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Portland chapter.

Unpopular opinion: Halloween’s my least favorite holiday

Now, this’s mostly due to the fact that I’ve always hated Halloween candy. It was always too sweet and sticky and it just became a mess. I never liked walking around in the dark and cold and knocking on strangers houses to get candy that I wasn’t going to eat. So to sum up, since I was a child I was never really into Halloween or fall in general.

However, as I started to get older, steaming mugs of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, the smell of burning candles and sitting by the fireplace carving pumpkins started to sound like heaven. Now the fall time’s something to be treasured and I’ve got just the thing for those of you who, like me, are still not into Halloween candy this fall. These are five sweet homemade fall treat ideas that are sure to put you in a food coma this Halloween.

1.  Apple Cider Donuts

2. The Classic Carmel Apple

3. Pumpkin Cheesecake

4. Pumpkin Muffins with Spiced Cream Cheese Filling

5. Candy Corn Fudge
