Artist To Watch: The Band Camino

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

Calling all dreamy rock fans! Your new obsession is here; it’s time to wake up and stop sleeping on The Band Camino.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, The Band Camino was formed in 2015 by high schools friends Jeffrey Jordan, Spencer Stewart, Graham Rowell, and Andrew Isbell. Despite only being a band for three years, the quartet has already begun making waves in the indie music scene. Their song “My Thoughts On You” from their 2017 EP Heaven has nearly three million plays on Spotify, and power ballad “The Black and The White” is close behind with just under two million plays. In December 2017 the band announced the addition of Caleb Hughes, and they released a new single titled Berenstein, which is the indie rock jam I didn’t know I needed. (Seriously, it’s amazing).

I stumbled upon this lovely band through one of my Spotify daily mixes, and thank god I did. I have been infatuated with their sound since it first graced my ears, and I’ve been listening to their music non-stop for the past couple of months. Some personal favorites include Young, What I Want, and Heaven, but I can honestly say I love every one of their songs.

Lucky for me (and for all of you) The Band Camino is joining The Dangerous Summer on tour this spring and will be making a stop in Pittsburgh at Mr. Small’s Theatre on February 6th. You can find tickets here. If you’re smart, I’ll see you there!
