Which Gilmore Girls Character Are You Based on Your Dorm?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

I don’t know about you, but I am beyond excited for the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls this November! It will be so great to see all of the classic characters reunited for a few episodes of nostalgic bliss. To get you in the mood for this event, you can find out which character would live in your dorm!

Sutherland Hall: Rory Gilmore

Where else would Rory be other than the honors dorm? This dorm would be perfect for her. Not only would she be among other studious students, she could meet student athletes, like Dean, who would be living just across the way in Sutherland East. Maybe Jess would even be living on her floor in Sutherland West and the rivalry would start freshman year. Also, she could use the spacious Sutherland rooms to store her copious book collection.

Towers: Lorelai Gilmore

Lorelai would definitely be in the most well-known freshman dorms on Pitt’s campus. Her eclectic personality and ability to go with the flow would make her a perfect candidate for Towers. She would definitely be obsessed with the amount of food right at her fingertips. From late market runs, to the huge selection at Market to Go, Lorelai would be set. Also, there is a Starbucks right downstairs – enough said.

Holland Hall: Lane Kim

If Lane was even allowed to go to Pitt, Ms. Kim would make sure she was in the all girls freshman dorm, Holland Hall. However, once at school, Lane would take every opportunity to join a band on campus and get involved. Holland’s close proximity to all of the main campus buildings would help her meet potential bandmates.

Nordenberg: Emily and Richard Gilmore

Emily and Richard Gilmore would only stay in Nordenberg if they were at Pitt, since it is the newest and nicest dorm with the best amenities. The Gilmores would pay whatever it took to be in such a prime location. They would require special treatment with the promise that they would be excellent alumni and donate millions to the school and maybe even an astronomy building for their favorite granddaughter! Now that’s something to toast to.

McCormick: Sookie St. James

As a budding chef, Sookie would want to have access to a kitchen but still be able to go to market to work on the perfect stir fry combination. McCormick would be the ideal location with it’s apartment-style living and proximity to the events of campus. Sookie would also need to stay close to Student Health as because of her clumsiness in the kitchen.

Amos: Kirk Gleason

So you might be asking yourself: Wait! Isn’t Amos only sorority suites? You’d be correct. Kirk, however, wouldn’t know this. He would sign up for housing way too late and would accidentally write down Kim instead of Kirk. So, somehow he would get placed in the Kappa Delta suite in Amos, and being Kirk, he’d make the best of it. After all, he has lived with his mother for all of his life and that counts for something, right?

Bouquet: Paris Geller

Ah, Paris… The normal rules of the housing lottery would not apply to her. Paris would do whatever it took to get Bouquet Gardens her junior year. She would make sure that she got the best option for upperclassman on-campus housing that Pitt has to offer. And, inevitably, she would make sure Rory got there as well (with the help of Richard and Emily, of course). Yes, Paris would find a way to work the system.

And there you have it! Some classic Gilmore Girls to Pitt comparisons to get you through less than a month of waiting for the best revival ever.
