Meet Neha More, ‘17

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

Name: Neha More

Year: Junior

Major: Psychology, Certificate in American Sign Language

Relationship Status: Taken

Hometown: Irvine, California

This week’s Campus Cutie is Neha More! Neha and I met while we were both rushing for the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, and since then, we’ve become very good friends. Check out the interview below to learn all about Neha!

Her Campus: So you’re from California! What made you choose to come to Pitt?

Neha More: So I originally applied to 28 schools for college, and I was looking for an audiology program. Pitt had one and so did Colorado Boulder, and I got accepted to both so I only had two real options out of those 28 schools. Then, I visited Pitt with my mom and I loved it! They had a sign language certificate program, which I’m in now. I was also really excited about the environment: it’s very diverse and there are seasons, and I just wanted all of that. After visiting Pitt, I visited Colorado and I did not feel the same way… it was just not the same.

HC: So what’s your favorite thing about Pitt?

NM: I love the seasons, I love the diversity of the people here, and I love that there’s so many things that I haven’t tried.

HC: Is there anything that you haven’t done yet but would like to do while you’re in Pittsburgh?

NM: I haven’t gone kayaking on the river, and I really want to do that. I also haven’t eaten at a lot of places, but I’m going to Pamela’s Diner soon and Burgatory in a couple of weeks, so I’m excited for that!

HC: Tell us what you’re involved in on campus.

NM: I’m involved with Alpha Phi Omega, which is a national service fraternity. We just went to Cincinnati for a Regional Conference this past weekend.

HC: What do you like most about APO?

NM: Right now, I’m the secondary officer of service and a service liaison for the Oakland Food Pantry. I get to do a lot of events, and I’ve done a lot of service because my goal for the semester was to get 100 service hours, which I have successfully gotten!

HC: Okay, now for a “lightning round” of questions! What is your ideal date?

NM: Probably going skydiving because my boyfriend really wants to go, and I haven’t been able to do that yet. And probably eating after that because who doesn’t like food?

HC: What is your biggest pet peeve?

NM: I don’t like sharing earphones that go inside your ears because I think that’s just the most disgusting thing. I also don’t like when people are upset about something else but they take out their anger on you.

HC: Name the best show you’re watching right now, as well as a guilty pleasure show.

NM: So I’m the most caught up on How to Get Away with Murder. For guilty pleasure, I just started watching Outsourced again, and I’m really looking forward to finishing the season!

HC: Okay, and finally, what is something people don’t know about you that you would like them to know?

NM: I’ve played the piano for 15 years. And I have a food blog. And I’m doing #365HappyDays on Instagram!
