Pittsburgh Folk FestivalBy April 20, 2013 - 11:00am Who: The Office of Cross Cultural and Leadership Development and the World Culture Education Consortium are joining forces to bring Pitt students a folk music festival from around the world! What: This day long event will take place as the 56th Annual Pittsburgh Folk Festival, specifically entitled “Go Around the World in an Hour.” Provided with music and cultures from across the globe, the festival will include a cultural scavenger hunt, the chance to win tickets to the Civic Light Opera, and more! With continuous live entertainment, cultural exhibits, and various cuisines, this event is sure to broaden your horizons, fill your stomach, and lighten your mood! Why: Free food and great music during finals week – what could be better?!... |

Pi Kappa Phi Bike-a-thonBy April 11, 2013 - 4:00pm Come check out the Brothers of Pi Kappa Phi and numerous other supporting organizations as they ride stationary bikes for 50 straight hours to help raise money for cystic fibrosis and people with disabilities! The goal for this year once again is $10,000. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated and sponsorship from an organization would be a huge help as well. Last year this event was a ton of fun and nothing is more fun than watching the sunrise as you cycle for a great cause. Hope to see all of you there! READ MORE |

Delta Phi Epsilon Presents: Deepher DudeBy April 2, 2013 - 9:00pm Come join the sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon for their annual Deepher Dude event! With all proceeds benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, this year’s Deepher Dude features nine males from different fraternities on campus who will compete in three different rounds: swimsuit, talent, and formal wear- which features the interview section. Greek Sing 2013By March 22, 2013 - 6:00pm Like to sing and dance but would rather watch others on stage than be up there yourself? Come out to Greek Sing 2013 and watch the greek organizations amaze the audience with a ten-minute self-choreographed dance routine that they have been working on since December. The Field House will be filled with all organizations around campus and is the 2nd largest philanthropy event of the year! All of the money raised will go towards the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Every year this competition gets fierce and is something everyone should see at least once during their time at Pitt. So, Friday afternoon, get off your couch, walk up the hill and don’t miss a beat! Stress Free YogaBy February 25, 2013 - 8:45pm Everyone is a little (or a lot) stressed out because of midterms, papers, homework, and the craziness that is spring semester at Pitt. So why not come out and do some yoga with at the Stress Free Zone in the William Pitt Union?! This class repeats every single week and is there to help Pitt students destress with a relaxing yoga workout that'll leave your endorphines reeling and your mind at ease. Lights! Gambia! Action!By February 15, 2013 - 7:00pm Bring your sweetie, or your friends, to celebrate a second night of Valentine’s Day at the National Society of Collegiate Scholars’ movie-themed benefit concert on Friday, February 15th. The concert will feature performances by various Pitt organizations including Pitt Ballet Club, Hip Hop Dance Crew, Women’s Choral Ensemble, and more! The concert will take place in the O’Hara Ballroom where free refreshments will be provided. All donations from the show will benefit Power up Gambia, an organization which provides “reliable electricity and water to healthcare facilities in the Gambia through solar energy.” Come out and experience what surely will be an entertaining show and learn more about the charity at powerupgambia.org.... |
