By Quinn Keaney
October 2, 2012 - 12:00pm

This Saturday, everybody’s favorite princess (of Genovia, duh) Anne Hathaway swapped vows with longtime beau Adam Shulman on a private estate in Big Sur, California. Although you might be disappointed to learn she wasn’t wearing her Catwoman suit, Hathaway wore a beautiful gown designed by Valentino. The veteran designer gushed to E! News, “She’s a very good friend of mine, like a daughter! She deserves what she has in this life, meaning that she’s already a great star. She’s going to be a great, great, great, great thousand times great star. She has all the qualities.” READ MORE

Chris Parkinson '16

British Boys. You see them all the time in movies. For example, Hugh Grant in “Notting Hill” or Robert Pattinson in “Twlight” or Ed Westwick who plays Chuck Bass in the popular show “Gossip Girl”… even Johnny Depp had a random and strange British accent for awhile? British people are in our movies, television and in our dreams, but what if I told you we had one roaming around our very campus. Freshman, Olympic alternate in Amateur Boxing and Model, Chris Parkinson, actually may be offended that I’m discussing Brits as if they were some form of rare mammal, especially because he made a point to say that, “He is more than just his accent”. During our interview at Market Central, I got a closer look at the man behind the accent....

We all have that celebrity girl we all wish we could be for a day. It’s totally okay for girls to have mini girl-crushes on all these flawless celebrities that we look up to. Not even just famous girls, but most of us even wish to step into our best friends’ shoes sometimes too! While the grass is never greener on the other side, it’s still fun to pick out the qualities we admire in other young women like ourselves, and that way we can try to make ourselves acquire those winning characteristics as well. Here’s a list of some of the most admirable women of our generation out there and what we can take away from their personalities as well. READ MORE

That Sad Moment When You Look at an Urban Outfitters Price Tag

By Monica Khan
September 28, 2012 - 7:51pm

I think every girl remembers the first time they walked into their first Urban Outfitters. I remember that day during my high school years very clearly. For months, one by one, I had seen my then flatter chested, Hollister and Abercrombie wearing friends travel to the depths of East Carson street and then come back changed women, deflowered by this magical life-changing clothing store. I just didn’t understand what was happening, these girls who I had seen wearing chunky jewelry and holding Coach bags were coming to school now wearing purple skinny jeans and crew neck hoodies with pictures of cynical looking cats on them.
