Summer is Almost Here, What Now?By May 3, 2013 - 12:57pm As the air gets sweeter, the sun gets hotter, your skin gets tanner, and the nights get longer, how could you be expected to focus on finals? I for one spend more time at the library making summer bucket lists and researching places I want to visit this break than I do studying. I think we can all agree we’re more focused on just getting past these last few weeks of school so we can finally be unrestricted and enjoy the summer. Whether you have an internship, summer job, or you’re taking classes, everyone has to have a summer getaway. Even if it’s only a state away, taking advantage of the free time the summer offers is important. But how do you choose where you want to go? READ MORE |

Contiki: The Opportunity of a LifetimeBy April 27, 2013 - 1:39pm What is the point of college? As a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh I find myself pondering this question more often than I’d personally like to admit. Well there’s the obvious point: In hopes of attending a university you’ll eventually graduate with a degree in a field that will allow you to pursue a successful career. So basically, after spending thousands of dollars on tuition, hundreds of hours in the library, and countless periods of time stressing over information you’ll most likely never use, what do you actually end up with? When you walk across that stage at graduation, what do you receive? I’ll tell ya: a piece of paper, stating your accomplishments. READ MORE |

Jump Into Fun: Activities for CouplesBy April 26, 2013 - 8:00pm Many people complain after a while about being in a relationship. At some point, it only seems to be a burden, or getting to be a hard thing to do, because we tend to get comfortable. When it comes to being in a relationship for a while, we tend to lose our creativity and want to have fun with that person in new ways to keep us interested. At a certain point, it’s no longer about keeping them interesting, it has to turn into keeping the relationship interesting. If your significant other is with you even after the courtship has dwindled, they more than likely already like you for who you are. READ MORE |

Life After CollegeBy April 26, 2013 - 7:00pm The week we have been dreading has finally arrived! While many students may be trying to keep their eyes open and are on their (insert ridiculous number) energy drink, many seniors have been enjoying their last week soaking up these moments with friends. Now seniors, whether you’ve been excited to finally get the hell out of Pitt or dreading graduation and hope to live your life as Van Wilder, we can no longer deny that the time has finally come to move on into this so called “real world.” Whether you’re going on to grad school, starting a job, moving back home and taking a year off, or have no clue as to what your plans are: never fear. One of the greatest and scariest aspects of life is that it is unpredictable, and planning your life moment to moment... |

An Honest Letter to Underclassmen from a SeniorBy April 24, 2013 - 8:00pm You may not know me, but I was the HC Pitt Editor in Chief from 2012-2013. This organization has been my pride and joy since I first joined a little over two years ago. It was only five of us at the time, but from what I remember from those Sunday afternoon meetings in Panera (which is laughable to our now 30+ staff), those few of us gave a breath of life to the HC Pitt family. Campus Cutie Senior Spotlight: Billy Bourgouin '13By April 24, 2013 - 8:00pm The first time I met Bill, I honestly didn't know what to think. He looked serious and a little intimidating. Out of all of the sporadic times I'd interacted with him, I probably only saw him smile, or even laugh, once. But that was all before this interview. Turns out, he's actually a pretty interesting guy and can crack a smile pretty easily if you get to know him. A member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., this is one Campus Cutie that we are sad to see graduate so soon, but nonetheless wish him all the best of luck! Name: Billy Bourgouin Year: Senior Hometown: Linden, NJ Major: Communication and Theatre minor Relationship Status: Single READ MORE |
