Valentine’s Day Moments: Her Campus Team Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’ve rounded up some cheesy stockphoto images and a few of our members to talk about their Valentine’s Day memories – whether good, bad, or just plain cute! Happy V-Day, and whether you’re single or taken, remember that you are loved!

Brittany R. (’19): Last year was the first time I had a date for Valentine’s Day. My current boyfriend took me to an amazing Japanese restaurant, Yanako, in Manayunk. It was also the first time I had sushi, and now I’m obsessed with it. The night was stress-free and wonderful, so it’s my favorite Valentine’s Day memory.

Kellyn K. (’19): My sophomore year of high school my boyfriend carried around dozens of boxes of candy hearts and gave one to me every time he saw me, as well as those really cheesy valentine’s cards you can find online. Neither of us love Valentine’s Day, so it was just a silly way to kind of celebrate it without having to feel like we needed to go over the top. That kind of spirit has now carried through to all of our Valentine’s Days since, which always makes it fun!

Carly B (’18): My favorite Valentine’s Day memory will always be making mailboxes and buying Valentine’s cards for my classmates. Pink and red are my favorite colors, so I always looked forward to seeing the entire classroom decorated in Valentine’s Day colors.

Dipalei P. (’19): My favorite memory of Valentine’s Day is when I would buy Valentine’s Day cards every year with my mom and she would help me putting them together and writing down my classmates’ names. We’d spend a while just laughing and talking about my classmates and silly things that they’ve done in class. She’d help me put on the little heart stickers once I’d finish them.

Abbey P. (’19): In high school, I spent a snow day or two making Valentine’s Day cards out of patterned paper and glitter glue. I miss doing this because I loved seeing my friends’ faces as they opened a handmade card made just for them. It was my favorite part of Valentine’s Day- other than the chocolate of course.

Cora B (’19): In middle school I had a boyfriend around Valentine’s Day and was so excited to finally celebrate the holiday. This excitement was short lived as he broke up with my the day before Valentine’s Day. Worst Valentine’s day ever! On the bright side, I now have a very thoughtful and lovely boyfriend who gave me a giant teddy bear and my favorite candies for this Valentine’s Day! :)
