Some people have their heart broken, some people reveal secrets that were hidden for years, others realize that the person they are with is not right for them, and that’s just what happens in the movie Valentine’s Day. This movie is packed with romance and heart-ache all bundled into one amazing day.
This movie is full of celebrities. From singer Taylor Swift to actor and comedian George Lopez, you see them all, and they all have one thing in common: trying to find some love on the day of love itself. The movie takes place in the busy city of Los Angeles, California. One very interesting thing is that all the characters have intertwined lives with each other. Reed (Ashton Kutcher) is in a relationship with Morley (Jessica Alba) and is friends with Julia (Jennifer Garner) and Alphonso (George Lopez). It does get confusing at times because two characters you never expect to know each other end up knowing each other in some way. So, it’s very important to keep track of who knows who.
One of the couples in this movie is Reed Bennet and Morley Clarkson. Reed owns a flower shop named Sienna Bouquet and by the end of movie, his relationship ends up somewhere he definitely didn’t expect it to. Another couple is secretary Liz Curran and mailroom clerk Jason Morris. Everything seems fine for this two-week couple, but wait, is Liz hiding something? Then you have the high school couple, Grace Smart and Alex Franklin who are “scheduling” one of the most significant moments in their life that ends in disaster. Finally, you have Julia Fitzpatrick (below) who is with the divorce doctor Harrison Copeland, but is he really who he says he is?
Secrets are revealed. Hearts are broken. New relationships are forged. This is one drama filled move but at the end, love conquers all.
Why should you watch this movie? It teaches an important lesson that is missed by most people when it comes to love: love comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms. You can love your best friend and if that best friend happens to be a different gender, that’s ok! I know a lot of people think that guys and girls can’t just be friends, but guess what, they can! Another lesson this movie teaches is that when it comes to loving someone romantically, you have to learn the good and bad things about them. No one is perfect and the best thing you can do is love them for who they are, which means accepting their mistakes and flaws.
