The Best of Manayunk StrEAT Eats Festival

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

This past Sunday, the Manayunk StrEAT Festival took place on historic Main Street in Manayunk. The street was lined with live music, food trucks, and gourmet food vendors. If that wasn’t enough, most of the local businesses were open for everyone’s shopping and air-conditioning needs. I was mainly drawn to the festival because there were over 50 of Philadelphia’s best-known food trucks lining the street. And really, who doesn’t love good food? I checked out the menu on every food truck, but these few in particular caught my eye (and my sweet tooth).

  1. Lunchbox

This truck was by far the cutest (and tiniest!) food truck at the festival. Lunchbox serves a variation of sandwiches while bringing back the nostalgic feeling of lunchtime in grade school. I ordered The 3rd Grader, a PB and Fluff sandwich. A simple idea but oh-so-very cute and yummy!

  1. Undrgrnd Donuts

Undrgrnd Donuts sells a variety of donuts from French Toast to S’mores. This scrumptious French Toast donut caught my eye and is just an example of the lovely presentation of their products. The second I bit into this donut it began to melt in my mouth. These donuts are freshly made and warm when they are served to you!

  1. Foolish

This waffle truck serves both savory treats like Fried Chicken and Waffles as well as sweet treats like their “Strawberry Nutz” (pictured above). This warm and tiny liege waffle topped with Nutella, strawberries and whipped cream was such a delicious treat.

  1. Milk & Sugar

This sweet truck is a perfect way to indulge when you need a little treat. This food truck specializes in cupcakes, pudding, and cookies. I decided to grab a chocolate chip cookie (can’t go wrong!) and I  was not disappointed.

This week (September 19th-30th) Restaurant Week takes place on Main Street Manayunk. Don’t miss the chance to grab great 3 course meals at a cheap price with friends! More details on Restaurant Week here:
