Do you like trying new things? Are you down for an adventure? Then you’re in the right place!

Remember when Black Tap was all the rage? The wait for one of their humongous $14 milkshakes was hours on end. I am going to share five of the hottest/soon to be hottest food places you MUST try!

Hot Spot #1:

dŌ: Cookie Dough Confections

Do you love raw cookie dough? Are you afraid of getting sick from eating too much? Say no more!

Located at 550 LaGuardia Place, dŌ takes everyone’s dream of eating raw cookie dough and makes it a reality (without the negative side effects) for the affordable price range of $4 – $9. It’s a short subway swipe away from Pace University’s One Pace Plaza via the A/C train. Board the train at Fulton Street and get off at West 4th, the total travel time is only 20 minutes! If you prefer, you could also take the 6 train from the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall stop and be there in about 18 minutes.

A variety of 13 flavors are offered daily. These flavors include classics like: chocolate chip, sugar cookie and brownie batter, signature combinations like “Heavenly” (sugar cookie dough plus Nutella, Chocolate Chips, Caramel bits and sea salt) are also available for purchase. Another great option is “Nuts for Nuts” this signature combo includes peanut butter, Reese’s peanut butter cups and Reese’s pieces. Last but not least are their seasonal favorites, winters include: red velvet, cake batter and sugar and kisses. Get them before they disappear! dŌ comes in a cup with the option for one, two or three scoops with just dough or ice cream as well. They also offer milkshakes and baked goods such as cookies or cookie ice cream sandwiches. Even better…they now offer vegan chocolate chip and snickerdoodle dough.

Hot Spot #2:

Pommes Frites: The Best French Fries in New York City!

Pommes frites offers Belgian french fries with a variety of 30+ garnish and sauce options. Prices range from $5.75 to $8.75. I know what you’re thinking, what makes these fries so special? Their secret is…they fry them TWICE! Once to thoroughly cook the freshly cut potatoes and the second to give them their golden color and crispy bite. Located at 128 MacDougal St., it is less than 20 minutes away from campus, just hop on the A/C at Fulton and get off at West 4th Street.

Hot Spot #3:

Snowdays: Brooklyn, NY

Snowdays is the hottest new trend. There’s ice cream, there’s shaved ice but, have you tried…shaved ice cream?

Shaved ice cream is the newest trend in frozen desserts, it is an evolution of Taiwanese and Korean shaved ices. This dessert pairs the fluffy texture of snow with the taste and creaminess of ice cream.

There are three locations in the city, all of which are between 15-20 minutes away from One Pace Plaza!

  1. West village: 167 7th Ave South, New York, NY 10014
  2. East village: 241 East 10th St (b/t 1st Ave & 2nd Ave) New York, NY 10003
  3. Brooklyn: 214 Flatbush Avenue Brooklyn NY, 11217

Snowdays offers six different flavors with the option for 20+ different toppings and drizzles. What a great way to get in those snow days we haven’t this winter!

Hot Spot #4:

Burgrito’s:  173 4th Ave, Brooklyn

Are you indecisive? Do you love Chipotle and Smashburger? I know I’ve had a hard time choosing between the two. Well, your dilemma is solved! Burgrito’s offers the best of both worlds. You can opt for a burger or a regular burrito/bowl but if you’re craving both, for $9.99 you can get a Burgrito. This magical concoction is made up of hamburger, tomato, chipotle sauce, cheese, french fries, bacon, lettuce and onion all wrapped and served as a burrito. How cool is that? The best part? Most items on the menu are $9.99 or less!

Hi there! My name is Amber Dubin. I am currently a Junior at Pace University. I am pursuing a Masters Degree in Forensic Science as well as a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am originally from New Jersey. I love the beach, photography, fitness, science and traveling. I am always looking for a new adventure!
Hey guys, my name is Cas. I am a Senior at Pace Univeristy on the NYC campus. I am currently working on a dual degree in Communications and Fine Arts. I've been working with some friends of mine to start up our own creative platform called FUNKNVIBE. It's basically a way for artists, musicians, film makers and any creative minds to collaborate and create. When I'm not volunteering or with my FNV family I'm reading, dancing or working on my latest art piece. I hope to own and design my own publication showcasing the culture around me. I have a personal blog as well as my Her Campus page. I recently started up a blog with FunknVibe so definitely check it out!  I started out as the secretary at for HCPace but moved my way to VP and CC to now President. I love being able to give students on my campus a voice and connect new students to some type of a community. Her Campus has allowed me to organize myself better and find out what goes into running an organization. It's been an absolute joy and I hope for my last year we have one of the best!
