I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how fortunate I am for being able to experience five months of my life in the wonderful country of Australia. That’s why I wanted to focus this piece on all of the opportunities I’ve been given while studying abroad.
I have had many wonderful experiences including climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, petting and feeding a Wallaby, taking surfing lessons, watching an opera (The Marriage of Figario), seeing a day at the races, and most recently saw Rugby League history by seeing the Queensland Cowboys tie the game versus the Brisbane Broncos, then WIN the Rugby Grand Finals in overtime!
This is all just some of the excitement I’ve been given by my program. I must say that TEAN (The Education Abroad Network) is an amazing company, not only are they super nice, caring, and helpful, but also passionate, worldly people. If anybody studies abroad anywhere, I highly recommend going through them. The message that I want everyone to take away from this piece is, “It is what you make it.” Studying abroad is a once in a lifetime experience, take advantage of every opportunity you have. If you’re worried about not being able to do activities like those mentioned above, don’t! All of that came with my program fee. Trust me when I say you can have a memorable time doing the stuff you’ve always dreamed of while under budget! The world is your oyster, now go out there and start living!
