Rawan Zakout (’17)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pace chapter.

If you have not met Rawan Zakout yet, I strongly encourage you to do so. She is one of the nicest people I know.  She is hardworking, intelligent and such an amazing friend.  This week’s campus cutie is an all around super star, who I am proud to be able to call my friend and my sorority sister.

Name: Rawan Zakout

Year: Junior (’17)

Major: Business Management with a minor in Finance

What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus? “I am heavily involved in Kappa Delta Sorority. I serve as the Vice President of Standards on a board of 9 other lovely women. On campus I am also apart of the RHA Club and serve as a volunteer for Jumpstart.”

What is your favorite thing about being Vice President of Standards In Kappa Delta? “So many things! I absolutely love being able to have a say in how our chapter runs. Being on council, I am able to easily implement my ideas and that is such a great feeling when I step back and see how much I have accomplished and positively changed the chapter. It is also my job to make sure that everyone in the chapter is accounted for and safe. I love being the sister that is available to support and empower another sister in her time of need. There’s so much good that comes out of my job in regards to delegating tasks, following rules, and being on top of your email, which are all great skills to have when going into the real world!”

What is one thing you want to do before you graduate from Pace? “Before I graduate from Pace, I definitely want to involve myself in internships. At the end of the day, we are all ultimately in college to find a job and I feel like that’s a great way of expanding myself through networking.”

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? “In 5 years I hope to be managing a hotel or some operations part of the humanities field.  Hopefully in the near future I can also go back to school to get my masters. Being unsure of the future is what makes it exciting, but I will continue to strive for better and challenge myself everyday through experiences I have in college.”

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. “To relieve stress I’m a super grandma. I love to knit, crochet, and sew. It’s a great way to pass time and something you definitely wouldn’t know about me if I didn’t tell you!”
