Your Ultimate Spring Break Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oxy chapter.

Classes are finally out, midterms are complete, and projects have been presented. You’re off on a roadtrip with girlfriends, jetting off to a tropical locale, or even kicking back on campus, but your week of fun and relaxation isn’t complete without a rockin’ playlist! From the HC Oxy team to you, we present the seven songs you MUST have on your Ultimate Spring Break 2012 Playlist. We guarantee you’ll have these on repeat all week!

Feel So Close – Calvin Harris
Calvin Harris is the current darling of dance music, and for good reason. Feel So Close starts out steady but quickly builds to a song you and your girlfriends will be dancing to all night. The (admittedly limited) lyrics capture the feeling of a spring fling – perfect for spring break.

Summer Weekend – DJ Trademark
DJ Trademark is the web’s best mashup artist, and Summer Weekend doesn’t disappoint. You’ve been pregaming to Katy Perry, Avicii, and The Cataracts all semester, and this mashup of the three artists is upbeat and sparkles with the anticipation of summer.

Brighter Than The Sun – Colbie Caillat
The perfect road trip song. I guarantee you this sunny song will appear in romantic comedies everywhere in 2012! This song  perfectly captures falling in love in the spring. Aww.

Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen
If you haven’t heard this song yet you may live under a rock. The catchiest pop song of 2012, Call Me Maybe is that song you hate to love but can’t seem to help loving. It’s absurdly sweet and can make a room full of grown men burst into song. How can you argue with that?

Shots On The Hood Of My Car – Ke$ha
This unreleased song by Ke$ha is definitely a hidden gem. It’s everything you expect from Ke$ha: flirty, outrageous, a little sloppy in content but not production. Because sometimes you just need to take shots on the hood of a car.

I Don’t Want This Night to End – Luke Bryan
Country’s cutest new singer Luke Bryan belts out this year’s song about driving in trucks and living the free wild life, all while falling in love. Every girl in the world wants to be the girl he’s singing about here, seriously.

Tonight Is The Night – Outasight
The epitome of the YOLO life wrapped up in a tight uptempo beat and catchy lyrics. The video features city lights, taxis, girls getting ready, and pretty boys. Enough said.

I left out a lot of classic spring break songs, and I know I missed a few favorites! Let me know in the comments below what you’re including on your playlists. Have an awesome spring break HC Oxy readers!
