Fall Fashion Trend: VestsBy October 29, 2012 - 12:50am When it comes to Fall and Winter, one of things that I look forward to most is layering my clothes. This involves scarves, jackets, tons of comfy shirts, leggings, tights, dresses, tops, jeans, yoga pants, you name it! However, rarely does the word vest come into mind. I know that whenever I hear it, I think of a big puffy vest that would be out of place with what I’m wearing. But there are many reasons why vests are awesome! 1) Vests come in many styles such as a denim vest, a fur vest, a leather vest, a puffer vest, the list goes on and on! You have your choices when it comes to picking one, so check them out. I really like a denim vest with an A-line long sleeve black dress, a white t-shirt and black jeans, or over a striped nautical shirt.... |

Studying Abroad: Feeling UncomfortableBy October 22, 2012 - 2:57am I’ll be honest, when I first imagined what my experience would be like abroad, I didn’t factor in that I might be feeling uncomfortable. I imagined a life of cappuccinos, Roman boys on motorcycles, seeing magnificent sights, and exploring the side streets to find the best panini shop. I anticipated shopping on famous shopping streets and hailing taxis or glamorously running through a train station to catch the Metro. All of this has been more or less true (except for the Roman boy on a motorcycle… still waiting for my Lizzie McGuire moment) and I’ve been having the time of my life. Honestly, I already know I’ll never forget my semester abroad. READ MORE |

Studying Abroad: TravelingBy October 7, 2012 - 7:59pm I just got back from a two-night trip to Barcelona, Spain, and it was one of the best weekends of my life (apart from getting my iPhone stolen in a club). What made it so great, though, was that it was a mixture of planning and spontaneity. And contrary to popular belief, you have to plan so that spontaneity can happen! READ MORE |

Studying Abroad: Culture ShockBy September 25, 2012 - 5:37pm I’ve just had my third full week here in Rome, and it’s been the busiest three weeks I’ve ever had! I’ve eaten a lot of good food, seen a lot of beautiful places, and done my fair share of touristy activities (shamelessly, of course). This week I’m going to talk about some cultural differences that I’ve experienced while they’re still fresh and new to me. Italy is a liberal and modern country, so I wasn’t expecting to go through the same amount of culture shock that some of my friends who’ve gone to places like South Africa have, but even so, Italian culture is very distinct and there are things I’ve had to get used to.
