Adrienne Ruth ’15

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oxy chapter.

Name: Adrienne Ruth
Year: 2015
Favorite Color: Purple
Residence Hall: Newcomb
Hometown: Colorado Spring, Colorado – Current Hometown: Ankara, Turkey
Major: DWA with a Japanese minor

Adrienne was chosen for this week’s Campus Celebrity because of the AMAZING lacrosse season that she has had. Adrienne is the starting (and only – imagine the pressure!) goalie for the Oxy Women’s Lacrosse team. With a forty-percent save rate (I don’t lax but I’ve been told that this is pretty impressive) Adrienne is a superstar and is totally committed to the team and her responsibility as the only goalie. Adrienne is also totally obsessed with the sport – she has three lacrosse sticks under her bed.

Beyond lacrosse, Adrienne is also involved with Unicef at Oxy, which she joined because some of her fondest memories from her childhood Halloweens stem from trick-or-treat for Unicef. I can tell you that Adrienne is totally committed to her more adult relationship with Unicef and loves making a difference, no matter how small.

Adrienne is also a member of the Emerging Leaders Program, which is not at all surprising considering her major. Adrienne is an Air force brat – and is very used to living all over the world. In fact, she lived in Japan for seven years. After graduating from Oxy, Adrienne hopes to go to grad school. After grad school Adrienne sees herself working in the CIA, State Department or the United Nations. Her ultimate career goal is to put her Japanese language skills to use as an ambassador to Japan.

Hi! I'm a super busy sophomore at Occidental College. I'm a Spanish, Group Language (Chinese and Linguistics) double major.
