Every morning I wake up, and it’s like another week has flown by and we are so many days closer to graduation day. Newest Coffee in TownBy May 11, 2013 - 12:58am Craving some caffeine to keep you going during finals week? Stop by one of Oswego’s newest coffee shops, The Nook. The Nook is a cozy coffee shop loaded with tables, chairs and couches that gives off an extremely inviting atmosphere. Whats most interesting is all the food is organic and the coffee is all fair trade. When asked about their reason the owners stated that if they have the means to sell delicious coffee without oppressing the coffee laborers they would. Fair trade are products that come from workers who are paid fair prices for their labor. Unlike free trade, fair trade workers aren't treated like modern-day slaves. READ MORE |

My Favorite Oswego MemoryBy May 3, 2013 - 6:16pm Since I will soon be a graduate of SUNY Oswego, I figured I would share with you my favorite memory. (Please, feel free to stop reading if you’re not in the mood for my sappy recollection.) It was my freshman year. It was the first really sunny day after a grey winter- it was cold, there was still snow on the ground but it was beautiful out. As beautiful as a chilly day in Oswego can be. My friends and I decided to go for a drive- I had made a mixed CD for my ex-boyfriend’s cousin, and it was sitting in my computer. Right before we left, I ran to my room to grab it. Our Deal BreakersBy April 12, 2013 - 10:13pm What are your deal breakers when it comes to people you want to date? You know, the things that really matter to you. Maybe it’s someone’s religion, or political affiliation. For me it’s whether or not they like the Toy Story trilogy and the Paranormal Activity movies. The S WordBy April 4, 2013 - 6:53pm I love profane language. I really do. I love the way “bad words” fall out of my mouth. I also believe that there are some situations/people that can only be described with profanity. There are some things, people and feelings that “regular words” just cannot describe. So, I use profanity to get my feelings across. There is one word however, that I have recently renounced. And it’s used more regularly than the C word or any of the F words. It’s the S word. Support Gay MarriageBy March 30, 2013 - 11:59pm Every year in middle school, we had to write a speech and then present it to the class. It had to be at least five minutes, and about an assigned “thing.” For instance, in the sixth grade we had to teach everyone how to do something, in the seventh grade we had to pretend to be a famous person, and in the eighth grade we had to write a persuasive speech. Then we had to recite the speech to our English class, and one student from each English class was chosen to read their speech to the entire eighth grade in the auditorium. Then, a winner was chosen by some faculty members, and that person went on to read their speech to the superintendent or something. READ MORE |

The worst part of a relationship ending could happen as soon as two weeks after a break-up, or as late as six months after a break-up. It could happen when you think you’re totally over the guy, or when you have a new squeeze. It could happen in class. It could happen on the Internet. The two PR classes I’m in were completely dedicated to social media all week. This week, I attended a Social Media workshop. Along with the daily tweeting and Facebook life, I’ve definitely got social media on the brain. As I scrolled my Twitter feed in boredom one day I started to think about this “Probz” Twitter. The dullness of the colors begins to peer out from what used to be. The cracks and strips of the wall slowly deteriorate, hanging on by a string.
