The End of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oswego chapter.

It seems that every year, we get more work at the end of the semester. I thought senior year would be different, but it’s worse.

At the beginning of the semester, I tell myself to try to keep up with everything because I’ll regret it at the end. But, I never listen to myself and end up having hundreds of papers to write and a million tests to study for. That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but there is still a lot of work.

On top of all of the work we have to do, we also have to look for jobs. My mother has told me that looking for a job is a full-time job itself. I’m starting to believe her. My last month of school will be filled doing work and looking for jobs.

Here is my advice for the younger ladies who still have time left in school. Don’t wait until the last minute! I started using a calendar (which I waited to use until the end of college). That helps me remember when due dates are and how much time I have to work on everything. The calendar I use hangs right on my wall, so I see it when I wake up and before I go to bed.

As for the job search, do not put it off. The job search will sneak up on you fast.

The most important thing to remember is to have fun! Try not to stress yourself out too much, which may be hard at the end of the semester. College is supposed to be the best four years of our lives, so keep that in mind.

I'm a junior. I like to read, watch T.V. and sleep. Aaaand that's it.
