Making Friends in Class

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

College can be a bit of a challenge, so it helps to have friends to make it easier. Ideally, you should try to know at least one person in every class. This way, not only do you have someone to hang out with, but you also have someone to share notes, work out problems and suffer silently with you.

Ah, but how do you actually go about making friends in your classes? One suggestion would be to join a major related club. Chances are the same people in these clubs and organizations will turn up in some of your major related courses. You could also form or join a study group to simultaneously improve your grade and get to know people in your class.

Of course, you could always just approach someone with a smile and say hi. Friendships will form organically through group projects and natural interactions as your time in class progresses, so don’t sweat it too much.
