The Best and Worst of This Year’s Oscars Red Carpet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

The Oscars are always one of the best nights of the year. While sometimes the actual show can seem to last forever and you haven’t actually heard of most of the movies, the red carpet never disapoints. And, this year was no exception. As Hollywood’s most talented arrived, it was obvious who absolutely nailed it and who should fire their stylists immdiately. Here are the best and worst dressed of the night, in my humble opinion.

Best Dressed

Lady Gaga was a vision in white. It was designed by her friend, Brandon Maxwell.

Rachel McAdams was effortlessly chic in this emerald gown. The dramatic slit kept her classic look a little sexy. This dress just screams “tasteful side-boob”.

Chrissy Teigen, despite being very pregnant, looked flawless in her Marchesa gown.

Jennifer Garner nailed old hollywood glamour in this Versace gown.

Charlize Theron looked ah-mazing in this bold Dior gown. The plunging v and slim fit showed off her equally amazing body.

Worst Dressed

Heidi Klum, where to begin? The one sleeve, the awkward cleavage slit, those flowers – it was all just too much.

Kate Winslet looked more like she was wearing a rubber trashbag than a designer gown.

Brie Larson could’ve done better for her big night. While the color and cut of the top worked, the ruffles and belt just didn’t do it for me.

Amy Poehler‘s dress just screamed frumpy and not Oscar Red Carpet worthy.
