The Top 8 Met Gala Looks That Are Too Heavenly For My Eyes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

It’s that golden time of the year—when the most famous celebs walk the grand carpeted staircase at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” which left a lot of room for creativity. Not only were the dresses jaw-dropping, but the jewelry, headpieces and veils were a work of art to say the least. Every designer took their own unique approach to these dresses and no ensemble was like any other.

Here are eight of my personal favorites from the Met Gala that left me speechless. Prepare yourself.

1. Rihanna in Maison Margiela

Rihanna could wear a paper sack and still look like a goddess. In previous Met Gala appearances, Rihanna has stolen the carpet for her over-the-top looks and today she has surprised us once again. She can and will rock anything with absolute class and poise.

2. Olivia Munn in H&M

Dripping in gold, Olivia looks absolutely glowing in this H&M dress paired with gold chained headwear. There are no words, she is perfection in one picture.

3. Gigi Hadid in Versace

This dress is everything. The shimmer and open slit on this dress speaks for itself as Gigi walks the carpet with absolute grace. No headpiece needed.

4. Rita Ora in Prada

This black dress dazzles with its subtle pop of color and what really completes this stunning look is her black, spiked headpiece that makes her look like a goddess. Not to mention that red lip just ties it all together.

5. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Ralph Lauren

Rosie is a true angel of the night in this low-cut gown that fits her body like a glove. Her circular, halo-like headpiece makes us think she really is an angel.

6. Winnie Harlow in Tommy Hilfiger

Winnie always looks glamorous on and off the carpet, but what I really fell in love with was this white, accentuated headpiece that makes a statement of its own.

7. Katherine McPhee in Georges Chakra Couture

This color is very hard to pull off, but Katherine wears it like it’s made just for her. The cut, color and accents within this dress make her seem picturesque.

8. Blake Lively in Versace

Blake is another celeb who always look stunning in whatever she puts on, and she really pulled off this shining red and gold dress with a train that could have its own zip code.

Hi! I'm Hailey. I am a senior at the Unviersity of Oregon studying Advertising. I am a workout nut and a Certified Personal Trainer at our campus REC center. In my free time you can find me outside, either hiking, biking or exercising. I am also completley obsessed with the fashion industry and will hopefully be going into Fashion Merchandising and Marketing in the near future.
