Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in the dirty-Eug and need a little vacay-getaway? Usually, I’m not so much the outdoorsy type, but a temporary escape from campus this past weekend was much needed. Going outside to “stop and smell the roses” and enjoy the sunshine is as easy as it sounds.

Our generation is addicted to technology. Constantly glued to cell phone, tablet and computer screens, we forget to venture outside and appreciate Mother Nature. It might be nerve-racking to go beyond wifi connections, but it’s such a mind-blowing relief to get a breath of fresh air without any distractions or Facebook notifications. Just remember that all you need is a camera to post those picture perfect photos on Insta later—because pics or it didn’t happen! Let’s be honest, exploring Oregon is the perfect photo-opp anytime, anywhere!

Whenever the sun comes out in rainy Oregon, everyone’s ready to lay out a picnic blanket, study outside, soak up some Vitamin D and get sunburnt within minutes of exposure.

Climbing Spencer’s Butte is a classic escapade in the Eugene area. So common, that it even has a geofilter on Snapchat!

Taking a step away from technology will be just what you need to destress when round two of midterms and eventually finals come back around.

I encourage you to get the squad together and plan a trip outside—you won’t regret it!

Peace out, Girl Scout!
