Ditch Those Uggs: Revamping the UO Unofficial Uniform

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

Walking through campus on a typical fall, winter, or early spring day, one will happen upon a sea of leggings, Uggs of various colors, and cozy fleece Northface jackets. It is the quick and easy outfit that slips right on when you roll right out of bed. Yet I challenge you to not feel more productive in slightly enhanced and just as comfy clothes.

Cords
Corduroy pants are one of life’s most underrated pant selections. They’re soft, stretchy, and just as easy (and less revealing, a.k.a. see through) than the typical leggings. Plus you can get them in all different colors like the ones seen to the right from Polyvore in a deep pretty wine color.

Okay if you must have leggings…
Many girls will argue for the versatility of leggings. SO, if you love those stretchy pants so much (like the ones we rocked when we were seven) opt for a pair of liquid leggings from American Apparel. Then if you bend over during the day they won’t get a view of all you got.

Leather Boots
Invest in a pair of leather boots. They’re just as waterproof as rain boots — even more than some that start to leak after a while, and they make any look more polished. Then you can go from class to work you busy girl!

Colorful Scarves
A go-to scarf (or a couple) will add a little pop of color and texture to your look, making it more dynamic. Check out fifteen different ways to tie them at The Fashion Spot!

Short Trench Coat
Since it does get cold, rainy, and blustery here in Eugene a jacket is an essential. Why not try a tailored belted trench coat that hits right at the waist? This yellow short trench from JustFab would work great as far as UO colors, but khaki and black look just as cute!
