How would you describe your style?

Yesterday, a friend commented that I dress like a stylish mom, and I took it as a compliment! My wardrobe consists of a lot of neutral tones, you can never go wrong with classic black and white.

Who or what inspires your style?

Being around architecture professors and hundreds of aspiring designers every day has really impacted what I choose to wear over these last three years. I think it’s safe to say we all love being monochromatic; I like to think of it as a blank slate, something that makes whatever accessory you choose pop just a little more.  I’ll mainly choose just one piece, like a scarf or a bright pair of red flats, to be the focal point.

What is your go to outfit?

In the winter, a pair of jeans, sweater and scarf. Comfort is everything. In the summer, I’ll be in a dress most of the time. Dresses are the greatest; pick one piece of clothing and your whole outfit is done! Plus they make me really happy.

Do you have any key pieces that you always wear?

I have this wonderful grey sweater-cardigan thing that has two long pieces of fabric at the front that you wrap up into a scarf, so it’s a two-in one. I wear that a lot because it’s so comfortable and easy to put with anything.

Where do you find yourself shopping the most?

Lately, I’ve been more selective with choosing clothes. I would much rather start building up a collection of really quality pieces that I love than spending the same amount on a bunch of cheap stuff. As I get older, I find it’s better to have quality over quantity, so I would have to say Nordstrom. God bless that store.
