The 5 Reasons to Plan Your Fall Term Now

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

It’s that time of year! It’s late spring, and sure the seniors are all ready to go and get out of our adorable, little campus, but we underclassmen have to prepare and get geared up for Fall 2016 term! Surprisingly enough, it’s almost time to register for those classes, too. And I’m here to tell you why it’s very possibly the best idea, ever, to plan out your entire schedule. Sunrise to sundown.

1. You’ll never over-schedule or under-schedule.

The best thing about planners and planning out your days is the fact that you can honestly never, ever, ever again over-schedule yourself or under-schedule yourself. Over-scheduling can result in a way too stressful day, full of canceling and running around and probably bailing on at least a couple events altogether. And under-scheduling can lead to boring days! It’s all about that balance, girl.

2. You’ll never forget anything.

Meeting? Got it written down. Appointment? Check! Class? Right there, written into your planner. You’ll never forget what’s going on that day, because you pre-planned and wrote it all down and you’re all good to go! No more forgetting about those super important appointments!

3. You’ll know exactly what your days look like, months ahead.

That way, when your family comes to you and needs your exact days of vacation time and what minute you’ll be done with school and when your last final is and when your next class starts in the fall and all of these complicated questions – you’ll know!

4. You can create a routine for yourself.

It’s a scientifically proven fact that your body and brain function better when you have a hammered out and solid routine that you follow on a day-to-day basis. I know it’s crazy, but having a bedtime is honestly one of the best ideas. Ever. It keeps you healthy and happy and rested for the next day! So plan those days right up till your bedtime, whether its 8:30 at night or 3 A.M.

5. You can always go to bed on time.

Speaking of having a bedtime… this is one of the best feelings ever! If you have that bedtime and are actually able to stick to it, you’ve pretty much got your life in order. You can feel content and successful, because honestly, this means you have everything done and actually can hit the hay right when you need to. Planning everything out, whether its by the hour or the month, means you know exactly what’s coming your way, and you can have it done before bedtime!

Go out and plan, lovelies!
