10 Simple Tips to Success

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.
There are many traits that make up a successful woman. Here are some tips to put you in the right direction on the road to success:
  1. Do whatever you are passionate about. Go after what you love, it’ll be difficult to put in time and effort if you choose something you don’t enjoy.
  2. Don’t be afraid to take risks. The best decisions are made by getting out of your comfort zone!
  3. Stay cool under pressure. With success comes great responsibility, how you handle stress showcases how well you will do in your future.
  4. Have confidence in what you do. The moment you realize how powerful and awesome you are when you put your mind to something, the more you can succeed in whatever you do.
  5. Know when to trust your instincts. Listen to your gut feeling. More often than not it will lead you in the right direction.
  6. Don’t strive for perfection. No one is perfect, and the sooner you realize you can make mistakes and still succeed, the sooner you’ll be able to climb to the top.
  7. Be true to yourself. Never compromise yourself for anyone or anything. There are always ways to get where you want without selling yourself short.
  8. Dress to impress. Looking presentable and professional will only add to your confidence; trade in the jeans for a pencil skirt instead!
  9. Network. Making connections with people you meet will come in hand down the road.
  10. Be persistent. Make sure to stay on the path that leads you to your goal. With success comes dedication; being lazy will only set you back.
