Here I lay again wondering if I actually mean anything to you,

How you walk in and out of my life whenever you feel like it.

I flood my pillows with tears,

If they had ears they would hear the tiny sobs with that breathless feeling pushing on my lungs.

The slow tear of my heart that just makes my entire body curl up,

In the attempt to protect itself.

After all the pain subsides there is a tiny burst of hope.

I don’t need you, I never did.

I am enough for anyone you do not deserve me.

Heart full of courage,

Brain full of positive thoughts prepared for anything.

But there you are trying to convince me you made a mistake,

And it won’t happen again.

Saying that love is here,

But you actions that lead to this point screamed otherwise.

Still part of me wants that secure warm embrace that I fell for,

Another wants me to turn away and forget it all.

Letting go was my breath of fresh air,

Finding myself and knowing my worth was the result of it.
