Honor Society President Caroline Ward

As the 2011-2012 Gamma Beta Phi President, Caroline Ward is not only a chem-whiz, but she is also dedicated to helping other students maintain good grades and get involved in the community. The Chemistry senior from Arlington, TX, first got involved with Gamma Beta Phi, a service organization requiring a GPA in OU's top 20 percent, at the end of her freshman year. Moving Sooners/Moving Planet Walk

The Moving Sooners/Moving Planet walk takes place this Saturday in Norman. The walk, which will help educate people on climate change, begins at Sarkey's Energy Center, 100 E. Boyd St., and will end on the other side of campus at the National Weather Center, 120 David L. Boren Blvd. Walking between the two buildings will symbolize the link between energy and weather.  Although it is not well known, it is true that the impact of climate change falls mostly on women and the global poor. The walk is part of a worldwide movement to move beyond fossil fuels. Come walk and get moving on the climate crisis. The walk will end with refreshments and speeches at the National Weather Center.
