Get outta town this Halloween

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OK State chapter.

There will be plenty to do in Stillwater this Halloween weekend. People will be celebrating at the bars and having costume parties, but for those brave enough to venture outside of Stillwater, I’ve rounded up a list of the scariest and most fun attractions in the area. Grab a group of friends and check a few of them out!

Guthrie has the closest haunted house for people not wanting to drive very far. Check out Guthrie Haunts for a unique haunted house experience! They have been voted on of the top 10 haunted houses in Oklahoma and feature a free show called Carnival Epsilon to enjoy while you wait in line. On October 31st you can catch Guthrie’s Halloween Movie in the Park: The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The show is the last of Movies on the Green for the year in the Brady Arts District.

For anyone who wants to travel to Oklahoma City, there is plenty to enjoy. The Sanctuary is a terrifying haunted house built in an old asylum. If that weren’t creepy enough, it also features Santa’s Slay House, with a darker outlook on Christmas spirit. A staple every year is Frontier City’s annual Frightfest events. Here you can visit the Nightmare Institute Haunted House or catch the FreakShow Deluxe and Cowboys vs Zombies shows.

The Tulsa area has two haunted houses worth visiting, The 13th Ward and Hex House

You can pick a few things to do in any of these areas, and then head back to Stillwater to finish Halloween watching your favorite scary movie!
