What to do with your spring fever

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent the past week and a half stuffing your winter coats, big sweaters and snow boots into the depths of your closet as you desperately hope and pray that the cold stays gone. We recently had a taste of the glorious, sunny weather that is to come, and it just got me even more excited for the upcoming change in season. But it’s not just the occasional warm day and the sunshine that gave me an extreme case of spring fever. Here are some products, movies, and tunes that have got me totally jazzed for spring!

I’ve always been a huge fan of Essie nail polish. The Flowerista Collection for Spring 2015 has just recently hit stores, and these shades are perfect for that tricky transition from winter to spring.

The next thing that has gotten me pumped about springtime is the release of Disney’s live-action Cinderella. I grew up with this classic fairy tale and watched it on VHS– gosh, I feel old saying that– countless times. Even the previews look magical!

MAC Cosmetics has even created a line of Cinderella-inspired beauty products in honor of the movie’s release and they are beautiful. One of my favorite products from the line that I’m determined to own (although it’s totally sold out right now) is the “Cinderella Glitter.”  All of these products are so fun, the packaging is gorgeous, and they come in subtle shades that are perfect for creating a fresh, springy look.

I’m also super excited about something else that’s happening this spring… the release of Insurgent, the second installment in the Divergent series. I really liked the first movie and I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with this one. And you have to admit…the movie poster is pretty rad.

Another snazzy product that has been instrumental in my contraction of spring fever is Pura Vida Bracelets. The best thing about these bracelets is that they’re an extremely reasonable price, so you can justify buying tons of them! Each time you buy a bracelet, you’re also helping to provide full-time jobs to Costa Rican artisans, so you’re helping people out through your purchases. Some come in solid colors, some are braided, some are beaded, and some even support medical conditions and raise awareness for environmental causes. These bright, happy bracelets are definitely must-haves for spring and summer!

Meghan Trainor’s bubbly, peppy tunes have also been putting an extra spring in my step. Her music video for “Dear Future Husband” has just launched, and it’s set in a cute, little suburban house on what appears to be a lovely spring day. No snow in sight, not even remnants of slush piled up near the curb. It looks heavenly.

I can’t even begin to express how overjoyed I am that winter seems to finally be behind us. All of these things have got me super jazzed for springtime, and fortunately, it seems like it’s right around the corner.
