Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

Halloween is quickly approaching, and if you’re anything like me, you’re starting to freak out because you still don’t know what you’re dressing up as. That’s okay because there are still plenty of good, simple costume ideas that you can make out of stuff that you probably already have.

Hippie

Boho has been such a big trend in the past few years, so being a hippy is such a simple costume idea! Just take some flared jeans or patterned pants, a plain crop top, something fringed and a flower crown and you’re all set. Throw a peace sign in the air and rejoice because with this costume, you’re ready for Halloween and you still look cute!

Cat

This one’s really over done, but for good reason. It’s just so easy! All you have to do is make an all-black outfit, slap on some eyeliner whiskers and there you have it! If you’re feeling like putting a little more into it, you can pick up some cat ears from a costume shop, but that’s not technically necessary. You can put as much (or as little) effort into it as you want!

Risky Business

Risky business is another super simple yet cute costume idea! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, think 1980s Tom Cruise dancing in nothing but a white button up shirt and tube socks. Get it now? This one’s super easy because you probably already have everything you need. If you don’t have an oversized white dress shirt, it’ll be really easy to borrow one from a boyfriend/brother/roommate/guy friend you have. And if you don’t have tall socks, you can find them at any store that sells clothes, even the dollar store.

Witch

This one falls kind of along the same lines as being a cat, you can put as much or as little effort into it as you want. You can go all out with makeup and a super crafty costume, or you can go the other route and dress in all black and add a witch hat. It’s up to you, really. Either way, you’re going to end up with a classic costume that can never be overdone.

Halloween is such a fun holiday because it gives you the opportunity to express yourself and be creative for your costume…or you can wait until last minute and frantically search the internet for costume guides like this one. Whatever works for you.

Just a coffee loving sorority girl who tends to be a little too sassy.
Just a quirky fashion journalist trying to get it right!
