How to Decorate Your Dorm Room for the Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

If you’re anything like me, the holiday spirit hits me maybe just a liiiitttle bit early. Living in a college dorm, this is almost a little hard to deal with. Considering we aren’t here for most of the month of December, the whole decorating ordeal has to happen beforehand. But that’s okay! There’s no issue in being excited for the holidays and decorating for Christmas a month before the holiday is actually here. And that’s exactly what my roommates and I did.

There are a few different routes you can take when it comes to decorating the dorm for the holidays. For example, the walls in our room are constantly decorated with hanging Christmas lights, so putting those up is always a cute option!

Another fun option is always decorating the door! A few items you could use to decorate with are garland, holiday door posters, or even little items like sleigh bells or monogrammed ornaments.

The ideas don’t stop there! One of the absolute cutest ideas is bringing a little Christmas tree from home and placing it somewhere in your room. Decorating it with ornaments is also a great idea. We actually have a monogrammed/personalized ornament for the occasion!

It’s not hard to decorate for the season—a simple trip to Walmart or CVS could easily do the trick. It’s something fun to come home to after a long day of stressful classes, and it’s also fun to send pictures of your holiday-spirited dorm room to all your friends back at home. It’s NEVER too early for Christmas!
