Being Homecoming Queen means the world to Jacqueline “Jacque” Mayer.
Jacque is a senior economics prelaw major with an art minor from Cincinnati, where her parents, Todd and Julie, and her brothers, Teddy and John, live. She’s wanted to run for Homecoming Court since her friend Chris Mills was on the Bobcat Court last year. This year when the application came around, Jacque applied, interviewed and is now in the running to be Homecoming Queen.
“I am not quite sure why it has been so important to me for so long, but I think it has something to do with the fact it was something I could hold on to while I was gone Spring and Summer quarter and missing OHIO,” Jacque said. “My mom and grandma are coming this weekend so I really just want to see the giant smiles on their faces. However, it is a huge honor to even be on Bobcat Court.”
Jacque is involved on campus with the Ohio University Equestrian Team and is Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta, the prelaw fraternity international. She has had three internships, one with OU alum Senator George V. Voinovich and two with GE Aviation in Cincinnati. You also might have seen her smiling face featured as an ally on the Faces of Pride posters around campus.
With a little help from her friends, Facebook and twitter, Jacque is campaigning for your votes, OhioU! Students can vote online, today though Thursday at 11:59PM. Voting is only available for current students.
Good luck to Jacque and all the rest of the Bobcat Court!
