10 Reasons Why the OU Overachiever isn’t Always Perfect

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

Meeting an overachieving Bobcat diva sometime before you graduate is a given at OU. This girl literally seems to have it all together, as she outshines people in class, is somehow super involved on-campus, has a great time when she goes out and still manages to look great as she goes about her crazy life. Seriously how does she do it? How can she be in everything? How is she everywhere? Does she think that she’s Beyonce’ or something? Hmm, well, let’s just say that there are a few things she usually fails at, even though people think she’s perfect!

1. Getting proper sleep.

Some nights, she sleeps more than ten hours, other times it’s much closer to two hours, if that. Yes, she is always exhausted, but she’d never tell anyone that!

2. Maintaining an orderly living space.

She has no time for cleaning when she has to study all night after all of her meetings! It’s literally the reason she always seems to have some new cool outfit on, as buying clothes is easier for her than doing laundry.

3. Caring for her car (if she has one).

Her tires are a bit flat, and she hasn’t changed her oil or gotten gas in weeks!

4. Remembering to eat.

She has multiple exams to take, plus several articles to write and edit even after her long hours at work… The only thing that there is time for is coffee.

5. Paradoxically remembering to NOT overeat.

She and her friends head to Chipotle, sometimes. More often than not, she’s thrilled to finally enjoy a real meal, because it’s a really rare opportunity. Unfortunately, and consequently, she’s going to be dealing with food triplets afterward.

6. She has probably told a million people that she’s bad with names.

Another student organization equals another hundred faces to magically memorize. Expecting that she’ll actually remember all the freshmen faces is just very unrealistic.

7. She cannot avoid small talk.

Even if she secretly loathes talking to everyone, they all want to say hello! She can put some headphones in, but they’ll never work because too many people know her. And even worse, she doesn’t want to be rude to people… So, yeah, she’ll always have to say hi!

8. Creating metal rewards for hard work.

Even though she just released another issue for the magazine she runs, she still thinks that she has to start her own blog soon and take up something else to fill all the free time on her hands.

9. Sticking to plans.

Yes, she goes to OU, and she does go to Liquor Pitchers on Wednesdays from time to time. However, lunch plans are likely to be overtaken by something else. She’s always has something to do!

10. Succeeding without caffeine.

Hopefully her well-rounded resume lands her a job that allows her to one day hire coffee interns. If she doesn’t have it, nothing will get done. If nothing gets done, well, let’s just say we don’t want to see her fail.

Overall, forgetting people’s names will one day have its worth. She’ll look back at the best four (five or six) amazing years of her life, only to be proud. Each major thing she did as a Bobcat collegiette will payoff in the end!
