HC NYU What do you see yourself doing as a longtime career?
NK I’m still undecided to be completely honest, but I definitely know I would love to be involved with clothes and behind the scenes work.

HC NYU Do you have any “girl-crushes” that you gain motivation from to pursue certain things?  On the flip side, do you think there are any women upheld by the media you find yourself to be a sort of anti-role model?NK I have many girl crushes, but I don’t gain motivation from celebrities. It’s not anything personal about them, I just look to people I know in real life as opposed to from what I know from the media because I have a personal relationship and that gives me a stronger motivation.   I don’t believe there are anti role models, women are allowed to choose their own path, whatever it may be, whoever they may be.

HC NYU How would you define your style? Do you look towards anything in particular (a magazine, etc.) or to anyone for inspiration?NK I would define my style as New York Street style meets Moscow Street Style. I believe that I reflect the style of the women I grew up around more than anything. Mostly family friends and my aunts.

HC NYU Which stores/brands do you tend to gravitate towards (if any)?  What do you  find constitutes a “good” piece of clothing?NK I gravitate towards stores such as Bloomingdales, Wink, and Blue & Cream. It’s important to have options when you’re shopping and not have one brand in mind because that limits your outfit options. A “good” piece of clothing is one that doesn’t look cheap, no matter the price. It can’t look frayed, have flimsy sequins, an odd smell… The usual things that would constitute it looking cheap.

HC NYU Tell us about your time with boohoo and what you think makes it a unique (and fashionable) brand. NK Recently, the NYU style squad and Boohoo collaborated and held an in-store event at the Boohoo Pop Up Shop at 462 W Broadway. It was an amazing experience getting to work on such an event and then seeing the outcome! The opening was a great success and it’s still open for another two weeks! Part of what makes boohoo unique is that they are their own brand despite being online, which a lot of online stores aren’t. Also I think this pop up shop makes them unique as most online retailers don’t do that, let alone make it look so good.
