Glitter isn’t just a festival essential anymore. People are donning the sparkle on nights out – it’s practically an essential at Nottingham for Cirque de Soul. But how can you actually make it look good and see you through the night? We have a few top tipso get your glitter looking on point.

Check Out Tutorials

YouTube tutorials on how to achieve a make-up look are always a failsafe way to get the results you’re after. When you’re working with glitter, it’s very easy to get carried away, so pick a design and try to stick to it. If you’re going all out, then YouTuber Sophie Hannah Richardson, has the perfect festival ‘get ready with me’ video, featuring some super cool face gems. If it’s a subtler look you’re after, then check out this sparkly star sequin look by Helen Anderson for some serious inspo.

Get Creative

Although less is probably more when it comes to glitter, there’s no shame in going a bit out there with your look. After all, it’s not everyday you get to rock a bit of sparkle. Why not browse Pinterest to see how other people have styled their glitter? Our advice is to choose a shade of glitter that works well with your skin tone. If purple eyeshadows usually make your eyes pop, then that’s the shade to go for with your glitter. It’s definitely all about accentuating the eyes (so make sure that the glitter you’re using is suitable for your face!)

Get the Right Products

Glitter make-up doesn’t have to be expensive. The Professional Make-Up Face and Body Glitter from NYX is available in a huge range of highly-pigmented colours and when teamed with their Professional Make-up Glitter Primer, it makes for a great, long-lasting look that won’t budge. We also recommend spritzing some of their classic Professional Makeup Setting Spray all over the face to ensure you stay sparkling all night long. All three of these effective products come in at just £20.50 and will promise to see you through multiple nights out and festival fun.
