Exam Time Pampering: DIY Face Masks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

With exam season creeping up fast, at Her Campus we know that this time of year can be stressful. To help you keep your head (and inner Zen), we have put together some easy pampering DIY’s to help you wind down after a long and hard study session at the library.

These natural facemasks can be created with ingredients lying around in your cupboard: just place the ingredients into a food processor, apply them to the face for the desired length of chilling-out time and then wash it all off with warm water. Simple as.

We’ve even named them after cocktails to remind you of what awaits once the term is over. Power through ladies! THE KEY LIME COOLER

Hydrating, moisturising & all round nourishing.

  • 1 TEASPOON OLIVE OIL
  • ½ AVOCADO
  • 1 TABLESPOON HONEY
  • A SQUEEZE OF LIME

THE MOJITO

Clears, cools & removes excess oils from the skin. No more clogged pores from stuffy Hallward.

  • 4 FINELY CHOPPED MINT LEAVES
  • ¼ CUCUMBER DICED
  • 2 DROPS PEPPERMINT EXTRACT
  • A SQUEEZE OF LIME
  • A DASH OF FRESH WATER

THE ESPRESSO MARTINI

Reduces inflammation and redness, as well as waking up an overtired student complexion.

  • 2 TABLESPOONS GROUND COFFEE BEANS
  • 50ML UNSWEETENED ALMOND MILK
  • 1 TABLESPOON HONEY
  • 1 TEASPOON LEMON JUICE

We hope our little selection of naturally nourishing facemask DIYs help you relax and wind down – remember to send us your pamper pics on Instagram and Twitter (@HC_Nottingham/@HCNottingham) if you do try any! Good luck with your exams and may the force be with you!
