Fall is upon us, which means it’s time for pumpkin-spice everything, football, and pumpkin carving. It’s also the time when TV networks roll out their best new shows. If you’re looking for something new to watch or just looking to avoid studying, check out one of these three new series!

1. How to Get Away with Murder

If you’re a fan of Scandal, chances are you’ll love this one. Viola Davis stars in How to Get Away with Murder as the quick-witted, fierce lawyer and professor, Annalise Keating. Keating is a force to be reckoned with in court. Each year, she recruits four students to assist her with cases. These four students become involved in some dirty business (yes, murder) And, of course, Prof Keating is up to no good as well. The show is witty and suspenseful. Definitely worth checking out. It airs on ABC (Channel 7 on dorm cable) Thursday nights at 10 (right after Scandal).

2. A to Z

This show hasn’t premiered as I write (the first episode airs tonight), so I can’t form any definite opinions yet. That being said, I have high hopes for the show. Rashida Jones (Ann in Parks and Recreation) is an executive producer for the show. If her humor is incorporated into the show at all, then it should be hilarious. The general plot is that Andrew (Ben Feldman) and Zelda (Cristin Millioti) date for “8 months, 3 weeks, 5 days and 1 hour,” and the show traces this relationship. There have been some mixed reviews of the show, many stating that it is too close in plot to the movie 500 Days of Summer. Obviously it’s annoying when great plots are merely ripped off, but I’m going to give A to Z a shot. Check it out on NBC (Channel 8) Thursdays at 9:30!

3. Selfie

Aside from the horrendous title of this show, Selfie looks really good. The basic plot is this: Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) is Insta-famous, but realizes that she has no friends in real life. She seeks help from her coworker Henry (John Cho) on how to connect with people. Of course, hilarity ensues. While the show is called Selfie, it is actually not a celebration of narcissism and the abhorrent duck-face. It discusses legitimate issues stemming from social media culture and how it both brings people together or pushes them apart. Selfie airs on ABC Tuesday nights at 8.

Happy watching!
