Bringing Spring to the Bend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.

It may still be windy, cloudy, and cold out, but who says that means we can’t celebrate spring? The season officially starts tomorrow, but we’ve been living that #springlyfe for a few weeks now, courtesy of our Her Campus survival kit. Join us in our warm weather fantasies!

Freeman Beauty Tropical Dry Shampoo

Spring Break is great, but the best vacation is the one you can take from your shampoo with this magical canister. We love the sunny summer smell, and it gets the job done. Say buh-bye to showering (just kidding)!

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Tanning Lotion and Wipes

Some of us left for paradise this spring break, others stayed on campus and weathered the permacloud. For those who stayed behind (me), these self-tanners came in handy. Now I can say I went to Fiji and when I actually watched 2 seasons of Criminal Minds and slept until 1 every day. Co-CC Chloe says “The self-tanning wipes were super effective. I opened up the packet and really didn’t think it would work. It’s a white towelette and looks like a wipey. It actually does work, even after one use, and it doesn’t stain your clothing. It is a bit streaky so you have to make sure you cover everything well, but that’s not any different than any other self-tanners.”

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips

We loved the idea of MUA Charlotte Tilbury’s Hot Lips press-on samples, but the results were so-so. Writer Mercy says “These were like children’s lipstick. Fun to play with all the colors but really didn’t hold up throughout the day. Would definitely recommend following with a sealant like chapstick.” Co-CC Chloe (pictured above) also tried these out and thinks “They are super fun, but super weird and didn’t last very long. It wore more like a lip stain than a lipstick.” Though the color payoff was just alright, we had fun looking crazy with these things pressed on our lips and the colors are definitely fit for spring.

Erin Condren Planners and Markers

These were by far my favorite products from this survival kit. Keeping track of everything that’s going on is hella stressful, but Erin Condren has my back. This is the cutest planner ever, and the markers have two tips for double the hand-lettering fun. Writer Shelly also loves her Erin Condren planner, and even has her life put together enough to write about it!

Juicy Couture Pineapple Earrings

Pineapples are still in, and these cute Juicy studs brought us instant island vibes. Co-CC Chloe says “I have super sensitive ears but the earrings felt amazing and didn’t itch or turn my ear green. They looked super cute on the beach too!”

We may still be wearing our coats and scarves, but soon enough we’ll be able to flaunt our (fake) tans and wonderful-smelling hair for the world to see. HCNDXO!
