Michelle Stephens, a junior at Northwestern University, sat down to talk to us a little about life as a student and what she likes to do on campus!

What are you involved with on campus?
I am involved with Best Buddies, UNITY Charity Fashion Show, Women in Business, and NU Gives Back.
What is your favorite song right now?
Right now my favorite song is “Float On” by Modest Mouse. This song tends to make its way onto my Spotify playlists around finals because it helps me remember that everything is going to be fine and to not get too stressed out by school.
Are you a cat person or a dog person?
I have been a dog person my entire life, and I am obsessed with my Golden Retriever, Madison. However, in March my mom’s recently rescued cat surprised us and had five kittens! The kittens are so cute and playful, and I am keeping a little gray kitty who I named Hunter (pictured below). She looks just like a baby Willie the Wildcat. Dogs will always have the #1 spot in my heart, but I am starting to really enjoy cats too.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what’s the first thing you would buy?
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would buy a plane tickets to Sevilla and Granada, Marrakesh, and Israel for a month long vacation after my internship ends in August.
What are your summer plans/what are you looking forward to most this summer?
I have an internship this summer in Chicago at Mercer. I will be working on the investments consulting team. I’m really excited to start working (and getting paid), but I am also looking forward to spending weekends on the beach in Michigan.
What is your favorite food?
Thank you for asking, my favorite food is tacos. I average eating 8-10 per week. Tomate is my favorite place to get tacos when I’m in a hurry, but Depot Nuevo in Wilmette and Frontera Grill downtown are my favorite restaurants for when I want tacos for dinner. I am trying to get myself to Velvet Taco soon because I have heard great things.
