5 Ways to Protect your Skin from the Sun

With Summer finally here, there is no doubt everyone will be spending as much time outdoors as possible. While basking in the sun is relaxing and a great source of Vitamin D, the harmful UV rays can have many long term negative effects. Therefore, it is important to take necessary precautions when spening time outside. Here are 5 ways to be smart in the sun:

1. WEAR SUNSCREEN 

It may sound obvious, but it turns out that many people forego this easy prevantative measure. Even if you are trying to get that ~summer glow~ and tan skin, using a low SPF is still better than nothing at all. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Bring a Hat

Protecting your face may be the most important part of your body to cover up in the sun due to fact that the skin is very sensitive. Wearing a wide brim floppy hat is a great way to get extra coverage, while looking trendy and cute as well!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Wear a cover up

When it comes to being outside, loose clothing is a comfortable and effective way of protecting your skin from the sun’s harmmful UV rays. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. UV Relfective Sunglasses

Your skin is not the only part of your body that can be damaged by the sun. Your eyes are also extrmely sensitive to UV rays released from the sun, so make sure to bring your favorite sunnies when spending the day outside!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Limit Sun Exposure

Try to take a break from the heat and spend some time in the shade whenever possible, especially during the hours of 12-4 pm when the UV index is at its peak. All of the fresh air, without any of the harmful effects from the sun!
