5 Spring Patterns to Add to your Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northwestern chapter.

We’re headed into the fifth week of spring quarter and we’ve already had some amazing weather in Evanston!

It’s finally time to bring out your spring wardrobe and put away your winter parkas, because anything above 60 degrees in Evanston means shorts and a T-shirt. You no longer have to hide behind layers of scarves, hats and winter coats now that the sun is shining. Instead, check out these spring-ready patterns to match the good vibes that come with the weather.

1. Floral lace

Florals are always perfect for the spring, but floral patterns that are lace put an extra flirty vibe to your outfit. Victoria’s Secret PINK just came out with an adorable eyelash lace high-neck bralette with floral patterns. The dainty eyelash lace along with the flower designs makes this a must-have pattern for the spring.

2. Tulle Skirts

Fluffy tulle skirts aren’t just for kids’ princess costumes. Mid-length tulle skirts are perfect for days when the weather isn’t warm enough for shorts or a shorter skirt because it’s so easy to wear cropped leggings underneath and pair the skirt with a cute sweater. Plus, feeling like a princess shouldn’t only be allowed when you’re younger. Twirling in a tulle skirt can make anyone feel regal!

3. Crocheted shirts

A crocheted shirt, similar to lace, is perfect to show some more skin in the warmer weather. Just because you’re not at Coachella doesn’t mean you can’t bring out your music festival attire!

4. Color blocking

Nothing says sunshine more than bright colors! Channel your inner Kimmy Schmidt and wear all of your bold colors fearlessly!

5. Floral patterns

April showers bring May flowers! I love wearing floral pattern pants with a simple blouse or sweater in the spring. The pops of color just screams spring. It’s perfect to bring out this time of year!
