It’s the winter, so if you’re anything like me, you are constantly battling dry skin. And for those of us unlucky enough to have both dry and sensitive skin, it can be really hard to find products that work. After years of trying, failing and trying again, I finally found a few go-to products that help combat the intense Chicago wind.

1. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Discovering the entire brand of CeraVe seriously changed my life for the better. I use all of their products on a daily basis, and I do not pack an overnight bag without throwing their Daily Moisturizing Lotion in my bag. I smother it all over my body whenever even the smallest patch of dry skin starts to form and it works wonderfully.

2. Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

I have had Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Cleanser ever since my first breakout in middle school. It is very gentle, and it works at all times of the year. It is the perfect face wash for the winter because it is effective, but it will not dry your skin out.

3. Aveeno Skin Relief 24hr Moisturizing Lotion

All Aveeno Products are lifesavers for people with sensitive skin, and this truly is a relief cream in the winter. Sometimes, you can’t predict when dry skin will hit, and this is a great cream to grab for those unfortunate times.

4. Cococare Pure Coconut Oil

I always try to get products with the least amount of ingredients, so you cannot get much better than this: one ingredient. There are many different brands that carry pure coconut oil, but I have had great success with this particular one. There are no chemicals in this that will react with your skin, and it starts working immediately. The consistency is a bit different than most moisturizers, but it is definitely worth it.

5. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

This facial cream is a bit pricier than the rest, but it takes the phrase “a little goes a long way” to a new level. Kiehl’s facial cream will last you awhile and it can be a miracle.

Everyone’s skin is different, so don’t worry if these don’t work for you. I know it can be frustrating when that product that everyone is talking about irritates your skin, but listen to your body. I have reacted poorly to so many products that people swear by, but just keep calm. And if it’s any relief, spring break is right around the corner!
